DiskAid is an application that allows users to access the iOS file system and transfer audio and video files, messages, contacts, notes, call history to your computer.
The program has a pleasant and easy-to-use interface that gives a quick access to the menu. First you should connect your device to the computer. The tool automatically recognizes the iPhone/iPad/iPod and displays the available categories. It provides you with the possibility to enter the following sections: music & videos, photos, data, applications, and file system.
The music & video category is well organized and it gives you information about the genre, the artist and the album of any file. In data section, the application displays the contacts, the notes, the call history, the messages, the voicemail and the voice memos stored on your device. When accessing the file system category, you are warned that editing files may damage your device.
I appreciate that the program lets users not only copy files from the iPhone to the computer, but also transfer files from the computer to the device. To complete these tasks, you just need to select the output folder.
All in all, this is a good tool that any iPhone/iPad/iPod user should have; you can use it to back up data stored on your device. It can also be used for connecting the device to a new computer. However, I believe that a multi-language interface would improve the tool’s usage.
